AI has fast become the hot button topic of our generation. Some of us love it. Some of us definitely don’t. It’s in our offices, our schools, and even our doctor’s surgeries. But how do you feel about it? We turned the biggest questions people have about AI into an opinion survey to find out what people really think. We asked thousands of people where they stand on the biggest AI questions, from trust and privacy to how it could change everyday life.
Why we ran this survey
AI has quickly become part of everyday life. From search assistants on our phones to AI tools helping write emails and systems analysing data that could transform medicine. Things have changed and they have changed fast.
With that speed has come plenty of debate. We wanted to move beyond the hype and fear to understand how people really feel about the specific ways AI is entering their lives. The goal was to get a true snapshot of where people actually stand in the AI debate, and just how varied those views really are.
There’s no right answer here. Trust in AI is deeply personal. This survey is about stepping outside the echo chamber and letting the data show what people really think.

What the results say about our views on AI
The clearest concern was about data privacy. Nearly three in four people said they don't trust AI companies with their personal information. Trust in an AI doctor, meanwhile, split people almost down the middle, showing that people’s feelings about AI depend on whether they feel the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
The biggest takeaway? Nothing about AI is black and white. It’s not simply “friend or foe” or “for or against”.
The survey results show that people are cautiously optimistic. They understand the benefits, but they also recognise the risks, concerns, and unanswered questions that come with AI. “It’s complicated” might be the most honest summary of how people feel.
