Hint – the correct answer did actually appear in the Bond films, but not as the man himself. In fact, he was introduced as the replacement for the Q, the man who provides Bond with his legendary cars and gadgets. Bond jokingly asks of the new fellow: "So if you’re Q, does that mean he’s R?"
