From 1997 to 2017, the mayor of Talkeetna, Alaska was a cat named Stubbs. This kitty lived the high-life and used to go to a local restaurant every evening to drink catnip water out of a tumbler. He died in 2017 at the fine age of 20 years and 3 months!
