Interesting fact:

The green of operating theatres doesn’t exactly evoke trust, but there’s a good reason for it. During surgery, doctors look at blood for extended periods of time. Staring at crimson creates an inverted (i.e. green) afterimage as soon as you turn to look at a white area. The green scrubs help avoid this effect.
