Yep, you read it right. The Fort of Ghosts, called ‘Bhoot Bangla’ in the local language, is an abandoned complex of temples and houses which is said to have been haunted since the 1700s. Local legend goes that a Holy Man who forbade anyone from building a house taller than his own was so enraged when he woke up in the shadow of a taller building that he cursed the whole town. What a spoilsport. Now it's said to be a hive of paranormal activity, particularly at night around the Dancer’s Haveli, in case you wanted to pop down for a jig.
